As soon as the man leaves, Dominic tells me that we’re going home.

“I’ll tell Simone. Wait here.” His tone is indecipherable.

“I have to say goodbye to Gabrielle,” I say, wanting to know what’s going on in his mind.

He nods, and I stare at his face for a few moments, but nothing there tells me what’s on his mind.

“Go on, baby,” he says softly, not looking at me.

I look for Gabrielle and find her at a table, talking to Katy and three other people.

“I came to say goodbye,” I tell her, touching her shoulder.

The blonde gets up and surprises me with a hug so tight it could easily pop my back. “It was good to meet you, Luna,” she says into my hair. “Call me tomorrow so we can strategize.”

I can’t help my smile. “Are you sure?”

She tosses her platinum hair to the side. “Absolutely. The next thing you know, you’ll be marrying the lickable—oops, I mean Dominic—in a dress I’ll make myself.”

I marvel at her sincerity. “Why are you doing this for me?”

“Because I like you, Luna. We’ll be great friends.”

Is it that simple?

Without thinking, I embrace her again. “I loved meeting you, Gabrielle,” I say excitedly.

“Gabi. Call me Gabi.” Her bright smile melts me.

Katy is already on her feet. With a kiss on the cheek, she says goodbye like a long-time friend.
